  1. What are some of the basic features of Microsoft PowerPoint?
  2. What will you do today to be better than you were yesterday?

Prep Work

  1. If you have any paperwork such as the signed Student Information Sheet, Syllabus, or other paperwork, place it in the INPUT box.
  2. Lightworks is video editing software that we will use in class. You must have an account to use the basic version. YOU ARE NOT REQUIRED TO PURCHASE THE PROFESSIONAL VERSION OF THIS SOFTWARE.
    • To make an account click this link to register.
    • Choose any appropriate username you wish.
    • For your e-mail address, use your DCPS e-mail in case you need to reset your password at school.
    • You should receive a confirmation e-mail with 60 minutes.
    • Open that e-mail and there is a link you will click to CONFIRM YOUR ACCOUNT. Please do not forget this step.
  3. We will also utilize CodeAcademy for HTML, CSS, and Python.
    • Please click this link to create an account.
    • Use your Student ID number as your username.
    • Use your DCPS e-mail address.
  4. If you do not have account with NitroType, please click this link and make an account.
    • Then send me a friend request. My NitroType username is: mr_kelley_mms.
    • After you have made your account or if you already have one, please login and practice NitroType while I prepare for class.

Instruction

Students will learn how to access the Python course through CodeAcademy.

Break

If you have to use the restroom you must fill out your planner BEFORE you ask.

Work

Begin working on:

  1. Student Introduction PowerPoint
  2. My First E-mail
  3. Begin working on CodeAcademy: Python.

Break Down

Before you leave make sure to do the following:

  1. Save all of your work to a) your student share drive, b) your Digital Locker on Gaggle, or c) your USB flash drive.
  2. Log off of the computer. Periods 4 and 8: shutdown the computer.
  3. Turn off the monitor.
  4. Collect your materials and wait quietly to be dismissed.
  5. Push in your chair and exit the room quickly and quietly.
