[In Your Journal] Feed Your Brain #2: Hurricane Matthew
Background
During the last week, Duval County experienced Hurricane Matthew. Thankfully, the eye of the storm did not make landfall near Duval County. If it did, the damage it inflicted would have been much worse. For this Feed Your Brain assignment, you will need to do some Internet research about hurricanes, the technology to track them, and the technology to help protect from them.
In your journal please complete the following:
- Explain how a hurricane forms.
- Identify at least one technology that allows scientists to study hurricanes.
- Identify at least one technology that allows people to protect themselves and their homes from hurricanes.
- Describe what this hurricane experience was like for you.
