Students will create their codecademy.com account and learn how to access the two courses for web design.

  1. Setup your classroom journal. Due today.
  2. Create codecademy.com account. Due Tuesday, September 04, 2018 at the end of class.
  3. Draw Something 20. Due Friday, September 07, 2018 by 11:59PM.
  4. Web Design Fundamentals. Due Friday, September 14, 2018 at end of class.

[Codecademy.com] Create an Account

Directions

Codecademy.com is one of many excellent resources for learning technical skills. It is the main website we will use in class for learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Those three are the foundation of the World Wide Web. Please follow these instructions and create your own account.

Accessing the Site

Please click here to access the page. This is the account sign-up page.

  1. Username: Use your DCPS login or something school appropriate.
  2. E-mail: Use your DCPS e-mail address or your own e-mail address.
  3. Password: Choose a password. TYPE IT CAREFULLY SINCE THERE IS NO PASSWORD CONFIRMATION BOX.
  4. Click "Start" on the next page.
  5. On the next screen, click "Skip to Dashboard" in the top right corner.
  6. Click the icon in the top right corner to access the options. Click logout.
  7. Log back in to make sure your password works correctly.
  8. Students need to create their account before the end of class on Tuesday, September 04, 2018.
