[Assignment] Mystery vs. Suspense

Alfred Hitchcock is one of the best film directors of all time. He was a master of suspense. Some of his films, such as Psycho and Rear Window, are ranked among the all-time greats. In the video linked below, Hitchcock explains what he considers to be the different between mystery and suspense. Please watch it. If necessary, turn on the CLOSED CAPTIONS as his accent can be difficult to understand. If you cannot access Youtube at school please watch this video at home. After watching the video please answer the following question in your journal:

  1. According to Hitchcock, what is the difference between mystery and suspense?

Pixar is one of the most popular and successful movie studios in North America. They have made movies such as the Toy Story franchise, the Cars franchise, Wall-E, Monsters Inc., and many more. In addition to cutting edge animation techniques, their movies tell great stories. The article linked below lists the 22 rules that Pixar uses when developing their stories. These rules can help you write your script and story board.

[Kahoot!] Video Editing Basics

Next Thursday (B-Day) and Friday (A-Day) there will be a Kahoot! in class dealing with the material we have learned recently. In order to participate in the Kahoot! students must:

  1. Have completed the Video Editing Basics, Camera Movements, Pixar's 22 Rules of Storytelling, and Mystery vs. Suspense. Even if they are late, they must be completed before the Kahoot! next week.
  2. Have the Introduction to VideoPad Tutorial Key Words written in your journal.
  3. Complete and submit the First Video Project by the Friday, 03/03/17 at 4:30PM deadline.
Students that HAVE NOT completed these assignments will not be allowed to participate in the Kahoot!
